I have read about Gustav Gerneth, oldest person from Germany and maybe oldest Stettin-born person.

Today, I talked to him on the phone. I asked him some questions regarding to my family research.
He told me, that he can't help me much, because he was a sailor in the past and at rarely at home.

Really amazing that he’s still conscious.
According to his biography it may be true what you said and he doesn’t know much about city and people from the past.
Too bad.
How about Historischen Arbeitskreis Stettin? Maybe they can fix your problems?
